frost fairies...something pretty for once

some fun watercolors for yet another character design assignment. i think i've done a whole lot of dark/ wierd work for this class, so for once i went for something a little more playful and soft.

fun ideas for my film...

these are just a few quick comps i was thinking about for my film. no real thought into the design of the characters or layouts yet. can you guess what the story might be...if you can guess correctly, then you get a grand prize. anyways, cheers!

p.s. the last image doesn't really have anything to do with the story, that was just the drawing i did to build the concept of more. ok, ok.

don't ask! i just don't know what i was thinking. it's kinda different for me. it was fun to do at least. in fact, i want to do more. i think i should take a break from doing monsters and creatures...oh wait...maki's next assignment is a frost fairy. ok, maybe after that one i'll be done for a while. need to start doing more layouts and composition type work...story telling shots. cheers folks!

FIRE

as most of you know, the fires were dominating the landscapes this weekend. hope everyone involved with them are ok. here are some of the pictures of the one closest to where i'm living, and to the school.

just a few witches

witches were the subject for the rick maki assignment. these were just rough ideas; didn't put much time in details or more fun stuff, but i still enjoyed it. the whole class had really great stuff. every week i put the artwork on the wall, being a T.A and all, and i find that i never explore enough, or that i didn't have enough time to explore more. dang! i guess that's the point of doing this becuase you need to get torn to pieces before getting better...right? i don't know. cheers folks!
